Some little sugar bowls I did for Le Petit Prince in Armadale (1a Mercer Road, Armadale)
They look pretty cute in the wild.

New work
This Friday night (31st August) I'll be at a new market - Market Square at the Abbotsford Convent. It's from 6pm till 10pm. It's little but has a lovely mix of stallholders and gorgeous ambience.
Then Saturday (1st September) I'll be at Craft Hatch, Craft Victoria's market at 1000pound bend in the city
(361 Little Lonsdale Street). One of my favourite markets - great indoor venue, yummy food, excellent coffee and awesome stalls - prefect combination.
Plus i've got lots of new forms which i'm super excited about

Open Day at Northcote Pottery
Northcote Pottery is having their open day this Saturday 18th August.
I'll be there most of the day throwing and chatting, so if you want to have a play with some clay come along and say hello.

Modern Times
I've got a little selection of wares at Modern Times pop up shop and they've featured a couple of my pieces in their gorgeous shots!
One of my rice bowls, looking all earthy
And a sugar bowl with spoon for the all white look
If you're in the hood on the evening of Thursday 16th August they're having a relaunch (as it looks like they have the space for another few months). The store is at 311 Smith Street, where Lure used to be.

vases and jugs
Everything's taking forever to dry so all the pots are outside trying to catch some rays!
But it's perfect cuppa weather :)

teapots
The barista in the cafe across the road asked if I could make a teapot for his girlfriends birthday. So now I make teapots!! They have so much personality. A bit fiddly to make but very enjoyable to use - my tea consumption has gone through the roof this week.
They're sitting on a tile crank donated by the awsome folks at Northcote Pottery (thanks Ray). Plates are on the horizon.

In the wild
Here are some of my pots in the wild thanks to awesome illustrator wendy june
A shout out to awesome potter Sophie Milne. Over on her blog there's been a bit of a discussion about finding an original voice as a potter which has been very interesting.
On a side note - I have an old kick wheel, free to a good home. It's perfect if you want to throw outdoors, or just want to give a kick wheel a go. Happy to deliver if you live nearby (brunswick) as it's quite heavy and may not fit in a regular car. Please email me if you're interested sophie_harle at hotmail etc

New Stuff
It's been a super busy couple of months.
With Finders Keepers and Bowerbird over it's time to focus on new stuff. New glazes, forms, clays and ideas. And constant practice!
Here's a few pics of work from this month. Loving the Oatmeal Glaze. It's from Janet De Boos. I fire to Cone 8 but it will go to Cone 10
Nepheline Syenite 50
Ball Clay 50
Dolomite 50
It's on my recycled clay and responds well to high iron.

So Busy!
Here's Sam helping out at Finders Keepers (she's awesome!). Photo by elements of alchemy
And Bowerbird - with some of my dad's gorgeous woodwork!
Thanks to everyone who picked up a cup, a bowl, a vase, a jug, a spoon or a cannister. It's lovely to know my pottery has found a home and is being used every day. I hope you enjoy it.
And a gorgeous photo by Sean Fennessy. See more shorts from Finders Keepers here

getting a handle on handles
Thought it was time to get my head around handles. They've been my nemsis for a long time - and now I kinda like them... they're all perky and they make carrying cups of tea so much easier!
